1932 Packard Super Eight Manual Convertible

Price:
$32,800
Summary:
Used Packard Super Eight Black
Location:
San Antonio, TX
Description:

This fleshly restored 1932 Packard Super Eight sporting its factory Packard Blue with black fender flawless paint job is one very special motorcar. Not only is it equipped with very impressive and highly detailed 384 cubic inch Super Eight engine with factory four speed transmission but unlike most of these 140” wheel base convertibles with side mount wheels; of the only five that remain of the 194 made, this car has the spare tire off the rear so as not to distract from the profile lines of the car. To put it simply, this is the finest example there is, period! If you've always wanted a Packard, this Packard Blue Convertible with factory Ox Blood Red leather is royalty on the road. I say that because I have owned 125 prewar cars, and this car is the only one I can truly say makes you feel like a king when you're driving it.The windshield does crank out for maximum air flow. The car runs very cool and I have never experienced any overheating problems in the 3-4 times a week I have driven this car. This would include days that were 95 degrees.A ‘Gear Vendors' electronic overdrive unit was custom made in March of this year to allow for highway cruising. No clutch is necessary to take it in and out of overdrive. The car starts immediately on the first push of the button, first time every time; and runs as smooth as silk with lots of power. This is a wonderful driving car and the finest restored Packard you will ever see. The paint job is literally like a sheet of glass. This was a full frame-off restoration comprising many years to complete, with the undercarriage as perfect as the topside. This car has no oils leaks whatsoever, and the 8 Day original Watham clock keeps perfect time.LED bulbs adorn the front of the car; both headlights and accessory Pilot Ray lights. At night, you are the brightest thing on the road. The 8" Pilot Ray lights are connected by a 5 ft. threaded rod to the steering arm; thus the lights turn with the direction of the steering wheel.Made in late 1931 and sold in February of 1932, the fine motorcar exhibits all the best of the 1932 models. Title lists 1931. The more ornate '32 headlights and V radiator shroud and stone guard, and V headlight bar. Also present is the four louvered hood[bonnet], the double row front and rear bumpers, dual tail lights, and seldom seen rear bumper accessory center piece spare tire guard and of course the original two step plates up to the never-sat-in leather rumble seat. The car was painted less than two years ago by one of the finest auto painters in the world; Tom Black of Portland Oregon; whose work has been displayed many times at the Pebble Beach Concours. The engine rebuild was performed by Packard experts in California; Custom Auto Service of Santa Ana. A well-hidden electric 6V fuel pump with added filter was installed underneath the car, but is never used because the factory mechanical pump on the engine works great.
